بيان دار الإفتاء الليبية حول عدوان الصهاينة على المصلين ببيت المقدس باللغة الإنجليزية
All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. The future belongs to those who are aware of God and there is no hostility except towards the oppressors. May Allah send His peace and salutations upon the master of the messengers Muhammad, and upon all his family and companions.
At a time when upright worshippers, who are committing themselves to the remembrance of their Lord, head to the al-Aqsa Mosque for their devotional retreats and to seek out the night of Qadar in which the Qur’an was revealed, the Zionists brought their weapons to perpetrate their evil crimes upon them and to degrade the Muslims and their sanctified places of worship during the night prayers of Ramadan. This was carried out without any concern towards the sanctity of the time and place and led to the injury of hundreds of worshippers.
The attacks are in conjunction to the Jewish Zionist evacuation of the people of the Sheikh Jarah district from their homes and their intended attacks on the 28th day of Ramadan of the al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Libyan Darul-Ifta calls on all Muslims from their respected countries and schools of thought to oppose these crimes with whatever capacity they are able to. These transgressions seek to denigrate the glorified places for Muslims and their sanctified status. Providing help to those who are protecting the al-Aqsa Mosque and the surrounding areas is an obligation on every Muslim as according to their circumstance. A ruler should assist with power and influence, a person of wealth has the obligation of assisting financially, and the one who cannot assist except with supplication should pray to Allah.
Allah says, “Why should you not fight in God’s cause and for those oppressed men, women, and children who cry out, ‘Lord, rescue us from this town whose people are oppressors! By your grace, give us a protector and give us a helper!’?” (4:75)
He – May he be glorified – also says, “But if they seek help from you against persecution, it is your duty to assist them, except against people with whom you have a treaty: God sees all that you do.” (8:72)
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The relationship of a believer to another believer is like the bricks of a building, each strengthens the other.” He illustrated this by interlacing the fingers of both his hands.
Darul-Ifta calls the worshippers in Jerusalem and their Palestinian brethren’s who are able to gain access to them to be steadfast and continue giving help to those remaining at the Aqsa Mosque and its surrounding areas. They have shown great resilience and togetherness which pleases the hearts of the believers and brings rage to the disbelievers as it increases the numbers of those present and provides medical assistant and food supplies to the attendees.
A reminder from Darul-Ifta that financial help is similar to sacrificing one’s self according to the book of Allah. Whoever assists those defending the al-Aqsa Mosque in these blessed days achieves a share of the reward of those physically protecting it. Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ said, “Who prepares a fighter for the cause of Allah has fought in the path of Allah.”
In conclusion, we ask almighty Allah to grant at the end of this blessed month a victory to the people of truth who are safeguarding in the holy lands, that He strengthens their hearts, and that He destroys their enemies, and cures the hearts of the believers from their mischief.
